Meet Elaine

Elaine Marrero has been the face behind Troy Dance Studio for nearly 40 years. She was born in New York but moved to Puerto Rico as a young child where she nurtured and embraced her love for latin rhythms and dancing. Her first dance teaching opportunity presented itself when she was 16 and… the rest is history.

She had owned and operated her studio in San Juan PR for nearly a decade when the fate and sense of adventure brought her back to Detroit. Elaine immediately saw the need and the opportunity for warm & sexy latin rhythms and culture in cold Detroit. That's how family ran Troy Dance Studio was born. Since 1992 it has been serving the young and the mature:), the shy and the party animals, bringing people together from across cultural and ethnic backgrounds through dance and love, not to mentioned Elaine's cooking.

Elaine is a World Champion in Latin Dancing. Trusted judge and a gifted choreographer. She is an awarded recipient of multiple dance competitions. Her studio was voted a favorite in Metro Detroit by many awarded and recognized students and dance teachers alike. Elaine is a Latin culture ambassador and a leading source of Latin dance community in Metro Detroit. She is passionate about everything she does, she is a helpless romantic, great leader and gifted dancer. Elaine is a wonderful teacher and a loyal friend to anyone who ever crossed her studio's doors.
